Christie Leong

Allied Health Services Manager & Occupational Therapist

Master of Occupational Therapy (Latrobe University)

Christie is the Allied Health Services Manager at Amazing Kids. In this role, she leads the allied health portfolio across Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology, and partners closely with the Clinical Behaviour Leads. Her responsibilities include clinical governance and quality systems, supervision frameworks and supporting the allied health team. Christie ensures and compliance in policies and procedure development of Amazing Kids to ensure best outcomes for the team and their clients. 

Christie is a registered Occupational Therapist with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree from La Trobe University. She has completed the OTA Formal Supervision Program. She is currently accredited under the Better Access to Mental Health initiative.

Her professional experience began in the public health sector, where she developed specialised expertise in Child and Youth Mental Health. In this capacity, she worked extensively with children and families presenting with emotional dysregulation and behavioural challenges, providing Occupational Therapy interventions alongside clinical case management. Transitioning to the private paediatric sector, Christie has held leadership roles, including Senior Clinician and Team Leader, in private paediatric settings, working with neurodiverse children and youth. She is presently the Allied Health Services Manager at Amazing Kids.

Christie is passionate about neuro-affirming practices, sensory approaches, and the DIR Floortime model. She adopts a trauma-informed lens in her work and is dedicated to supporting children and young people through developmentally appropriate interventions. Christie specialises in working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity-Disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Delays(GDD), Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy (CP), Chromosome Deletions, Hypotonia, Selective Mutism, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Seizures, Down Syndrome, Hypermobility, and Mental Health co-morbidities. She is qualified to conduct assessments in gross motor skills, fine motor skills, handwriting, self-care, executive functioning, cognition, emotional regulation, social skills, and primitive reflexes to evaluate and provide therapeutic interventions based on the unique developmental needs of each client. Committed to a family-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based approach, Christie works closely with families to foster meaningful and lasting progress.

Shivi completed her masters degree in Speech Pathology at the University of Melbourne. She is a member of Speech Pathology Australia. She has experience working with children between the ages of 2 – 16 years. She has experience working with Augmentative and Alternative communication (AAC), speech sound disorders, Speech and language delay and early intervention.  She also has experience in working with children using key word signs.  She has worked in different settings including private clinics, schools, kindergartens and home environments. She is passionate about delivering neuroaffirming therapy and helping clients achieve their communication and feeding goals in a fun, engaging way by incorporating their unique interests.

Yodha is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) who holds a degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Bangalore, India, and a Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Massachusetts, United States. Since 2023, she has worked as a Behaviour Analyst across multiple organisations in Melbourne. Yodha is passionate about the integration of Speech-Language Pathology and Applied Behaviour Analysis to support holistic, evidence-based interventions for children. Outside of her professional work, Yodha enjoys yoga, meditation, hiking, and travelling. She also values quality time with friends and is an avid reader and listener of metaphysical books and podcasts.

Alannah is a third-year Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) student at Deakin University with training in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). She has over a year’s experience as an Early Intervention Therapist, working with children aged 0–5 in both one-on-one and group programs. Her work has been in clinics, schools, kindergartens, and family homes, giving her a broad understanding of how to support children across different environments.

In addition to her therapy work, she provides independent support work, which focuses on building skills, confidence, and independence. Alannah is passionate about early childhood psychology, with a particular interest in early intervention. Her approach is warm, strengths-focused, and evidence-based, aiming to help each child grow, learn, and thrive, while working with families every step of the way.

Ella completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychological Science at La Trobe University in 2024 and is currently undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Psychology. Originally from Darwin, she relocated to Melbourne in 2021 to further her studies and gain hands-on experience supporting children and families. Since early 2024, Ella has been trained in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) and has worked as a therapist  with autistic children, specialising in ages 1 to 6 years across kinder and community settings. In this role, she has focused on fostering emotional regulation, developing functional skills, and advocating for neuro-affirming approaches that celebrate each child’s strengths. Ella is committed to creating supportive and inclusive environments where children feel understood and empowered. For her, the most rewarding part of the job is witnessing the growth and positive changes that early support brings to children and their families

I am currently studying for my Master’s in Applied Behaviour Analysis at Monash University, Melbourne. I have also completed Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) training, which has given me a deeper insight into behaviour support, data collection, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Christ University, Bangalore, and a Montessori Diploma from Ratan Tata Institute, Mumbai, which marked the beginning of my journey into working with young children. After graduating, I moved back home to Kuwait, where I worked for two years at ABC of Kuwait, supporting children with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and other intellectual disabilities.
Through both my academic training and hands-on experience, I have developed a strong foundation in understanding behaviour, individualised support, and child development. I am deeply passionate about continuing to grow in this field and am committed to helping children reach their fullest potential. Outside of work and study, I enjoy running long distances, hiking, travelling, spending time outdoors, and trying different foods, all activities that reflect my curiosity, energy, and love for new experiences.

Aaliyah Garland

Aaliyah completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Otago Polytechnic and is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand. She has recently relocated to Melbourne, where she continues her clinical practice supporting children and families, an area she is deeply passionate about. Aaliyah brings a caring and collaborative approach to her work and is committed to creating positive, empowering experiences for the individuals and families she supports.

Aaliyah has a strong interest in neuro‑affirming practice and draws on sensory-based approaches and the DIR/Floortime model to support children’s development in meaningful and developmentally appropriate ways. She works through a trauma‑informed lens, recognising the importance of safety, connection, and understanding each child’s unique experiences. Her key areas of interest include emotional regulation challenges and sensory processing differences, and she focuses on understanding the underlying reasons behind behaviours rather than viewing behaviour in isolation.

Aaliyah works closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, strengths‑based, person‑centred, and culturally safe strategies that support functional independence and meaningful participation across everyday environments. She values collaboration and believes that empowering the people around a child is essential for achieving sustainable outcomes. 

Committed to ongoing professional growth, Aaliyah is always eager to learn and expand her skills. She has a strong interest in further developing her knowledge in trauma‑informed care, supporting children with challenging behaviours, and learning Auslan to improve accessibility and inclusion in her practice.

Riana is a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist who is deeply committed to supporting children with disabilities and their families. She completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at Monash University, graduating with Distinctions.

Riana brings extensive experience working with children with complex physical, developmental and behavioural needs. She has a strong interest in supporting children who present with challenging behaviours, emotional regulation difficulties and sensory processing differences. Riana values understanding the “why” behind behaviours and works closely with families, educators and multidisciplinary teams to implement practical, strengths-based strategies that promote functional independence and meaningful participation.

Her clinical experience spans school, community and hospital settings, where she has supported children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and other complex disabilities. Riana is particularly passionate about creating individualised, neurodiversity-affirming interventions that empower children to thrive through play, connection and everyday routines.

Riana was recognised as the 2024 Monash Council Outstanding Advocate for People with Disabilities and received the Monash University Occupational Therapy Student Leadership Award, reflecting her dedication to inclusive practice and leadership within the disability community.

Riana is currently studying her Diploma of Auslan and has a keen interest in working with children and families who are deaf or hard of hearing
